Pearl JJ-1355 Joey Jordison Signature Snare Drum, 6.5X13 Inches Review
I bought this snare for my little brother who is just starting out w/ drums. He’s a HUGE fan of slipknot so why not get em a drum he’ll be into. after he got done bangin on it for a while i jumped on the kit and i cant stop playin this thing. Out of the box it sounds and feels great. Im not the biggest fan of slipknot but I might just have to keep this snare for myself :).

The JJ-1355 Joey Jordison signature snare drum features a 13? x 6.5? 1 mm steel shell that can be best described as a “power piccolo” with the high pitch and bite of a piccolo with the body and depth of a 6.5? for the kind of power you expect from Joey. Black Super Hoops and Masters double ended lugs compliment the black shell decorated with Slipknot logos repeated around the shell. The drum?s SR-017 strainer features a vertical pull action for ideal snare-to-head contact using minimal tension and results in superior snare response at all playing levels.

Best Live Snare I ever had - Douglas Jones - South Carolina
I’ve been playing for 18 years and I have never had a live snare that sounded this good. I am usually a DW guy but this snare surely compared some of the best. I do alot of studio work but more live sound and all my snare drums are made for studio. This is perfect for live sound. Thanks Pearl!!!!!

I am in band and when i used this it sounded better than anyone elses drum. It is pretty decent to tune and I cant find anything wrong with it. It also comes with a drum key and a pair of Vic Firth drum sticks.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this snare. I’ve been playing on it for about four years and it never fails to give me that crisp pop I’m really looking for in a quality snare. I’ve been drumming for 13 years with numerous live acts and I wouldn’t think of changing out my snare for another one! This is a great piece of equipment and can usually be found on sale for around 0 if you look hard enough, that’s how much I got mine at. Fantastic buy! Gotta love Pearl!

Pearl Chad Smith Signature Snare Drum, 14X5 Inches Review
this snare id recomend for hard rock performers and possibly if you know what your doing it can be good for metal too. what gives difference between this snare and my birch shell snare is that the shell is completly made of nickle giving it a much different type of pop sound to it, but what i notice most when playing it is it does not sound like one hit, but several all at ounce. playing this snare is also comfortable becouse ive never had it open on me no matter how hard i hit.
now im not much for looks but this snare looks as good as it sounds. its tinted like a mirror black, i guess is best to describe it and can injure alot . ive had symbols stands tip over into the snare and ive even dropt it ounce or twice and it still sounds great and didnt have a scratch on it from what i could find however there arnt to many other nickle or steel sheld snares that ive played so though it sounds great to me please look into a few others before listening to me.

Very Overrated - WillyMcCabe - Minneapolis, MN
I bought this snare drum brand new as soon as it came out about 7-8 years ago. I had sold it within weeks. Poor projection despite its shell material along with a fairly flat and lifeless tone. (And that piercing overring is NOT tone). A very limited tuning range.As it is not a true piccolo, it’s hard to get that crack that one associates with a shallower drum; but due to the combination of shell material and the shallower depth of shell one finds it hard to get a fatback style tone either. All I can say is try before you buy. I’m sure this drum will suit someone else perfectly. Just wasn’t for me.

This snare drum is simply put an excellent snare drum. I’ve played on it several times and will be purchasing one soon. It has incredible cutting power, going through any cymbal resonance one could produce. Coupled with a deeper tone due to it’s shell height. The cutting power of a piccolo snare that so many of us drummers need, with the tone that so many of us metal guys want.I can’t wait to get the cash for this one.
